When we were living at our home away from home, we met a lot of fantastic people. People who like us faced tremendous health battles, and many who also had children with Down syndrome. One of those kiddos is Tucker. Tucker's mom was in contact with me shortly after we began chemo. She too had spent many days and nights at the very same hospital we were living in.
Tucker is in need of a second surgery to repair his heart, and he's only three! He is one brave little boy, and he needs this surgery. The family has had some insurance hoops to jump through and have finally found a way to get the operation for Tucker ... in Boston. It's a long way from our home here in the heartland. We know from experience how hard it is to live out of a hospital, but on top of that they have the extra costs of being at a hospital across the country. Including airline tickets for the surgery and other pre and post surgery appointments. Not cheap. A friend of the family has set up a blog in an effort to help raise funds for Tucker's family. They are doing some great raffles, so go check it out! Lots of fun stuff to be won!

Thank you Carey for posting about Tuck. It is so nice to have such great friends, even if we havent met face to face. YOu and your family are always in our prayers. Chels is an amazing girl, has she been promised to someone already? Rhett possibly. If not, Tucker would make a great candidate. :) Thanks again.
