We got through to the dermatologist today and he confirmed Ryan's spot on his neck is indeed basal cell cancer. It's not a dangerous form of cancer, it doesn't grow quickly or spread frequently, but it does need to be removed. I suppose if it went untreated long enough it could travel into the lymph nodes and cause problems, but right now I think he's fine. He is scheduled to go in in 2 weeks to have it removed. At that time we'll find out just how bad it is. So while it's nothing in comparison, Ryan has joined Chelsea in the 'cancer' club. Seriously, I don't think I can handle anyone else joining this club for a while. Thank you for understanding.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow. I'm not sure why I'm so nervous, but I am. Everything in my right mind tells me we'll have a quick and successful bone marrow aspiration, then they will pull out her PICC line FOREVER! Hopefully her counts will be higher than we've ever seen them and her blood will be just as healthy as yours and mine. This is it, our journey is coming full circle, I can feel the finality of it all ... and it feels good; no, it feels great.

Oh Carey, I'm sorry to hear that Ryan has this but am SO glad that it was caught early. I actually need to go see my doctor about some spots, especially one on my nose. My dad has had a few spots removed from his face, I think 1 or 2 of which ended up being pre-basel cell's. My thoughts are with you guys!!
Dang it! I was hoping to hear different news about Ryan. You have so much on your plate right now it is no wonder you are feeling stressed about it all. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. We are here for whatever.
I will be praying for good results tomorrow and also for Ryan to be fine.
