Last week after days and days of super stinky potty diapers, I took Chelsea to the dr. where they taped a plastic bag to her girl area. I know, sounds horrifying, but when you're not potty trained, that's the only way to get a potty test done. The funny thing is I'm pretty sure I could have that kid potty trained in two days if only I had a dozen of those crazy bags.
We left the doctors office, I put her in the car with the bag in place under her diaper and we went to run an errand, or two. It had been about thirty minutes and she started wiggling, and then whining. There was a sense of urgency.
"Did you potty in the bag?"
"Des."
"You did?! Alright, momma take it off as soon as we get home."
Still not content, she whined and squirmed all the way home (another 8 minutes or so). You're wondering why the time is important aren't you? WELL ...
the little stinker hadn't peed in the bag. She was HOLDING it!!! Can you believe it? Do you know what that means? She's been playing us all!!! In my book that means she knows when she's about to pee, and has the ability to hold it in until we get home!!!
Once we got home of course I was surpised at the empty bag, but I put 2 and 2 together pretty quickly. I asked her if I set her on the toilet if she would pee in the bag for mommy, and she obliged.
Uncomfortable and a little ticked at her mother, she produced just enough for the sample I needed. Once the bag came off, she climbed back and finished emptying her bladder. But the best part of the story is yet to come.
Logan had an appointment that day, so we picked him up and of course he asked me what was in the plastic bag in the front seat.
"Well, it's a cup that sissy had to go potty in."
"Ewww, I'm NEVER drinking out of that cup! Okay mom? Never give me that cup!"
"Okay Logan."
The kid didn't even ask why the heck his sister was peeing in a cup - he was just freaking out about the prospect of having to drink out of it later. That's my Logan!
Oh, in case you were wondering, no she doesn't have an infection. Just stinky pee.
