Curious

So you might think I’m going to write a little bit about Curious George, because, as we all know, that is Chelsea’s latest FAVORITE. She sees a monkey - it’s Curious George, the T.V. is on – she wants to watch Curious George, she hears a Jack Johnson song – it’s the Curious George song. George is not the only curious monkey at our house.

Today I was on the phone with my niece inviting her to come hang out with me at work tomorrow afternoon (5th graders like helping the teacher). Chelsea was standing next to me and instantly perked up, shouting, “Me, me?!!!” Really there are no secrets around this kid, she wanted to come to work with mommy!

Nothing new here. Chelsea is possibly the most curious child you’ll ever meet. She wants to see, she wants to hear, she wants to be a part of any and all action around her. Of course curiosity isn’t just washing your hands with shower cleaner, or putting Neosporin on your toothbrush, or even playing in the tampons. Her curiosity is multifaceted and has brought her far in her four years.

By touching, taking apart, playing and often times tasting different things she is LEARNING! Let’s face it, it may be easier to have a kiddo who can sit still for longer than 10 seconds, or doesn’t mind sitting on the couch with you while you watch the news – but it’s not nearly as fun. I love my little explorer!
