miles.
I ran.
In a race that is.
3.2 miles.
Yeah, I told you it was crazy!
Those who know me know how crazy that is. I don't like running. I'm not very good at it. Running is hard. And boring.
But I've got a partner to run with, and let me tell you what a hero he is. He entertained my crazy idea of driving over an hour to a 5K race I read about online. We woke the kids up at 5:30am Saturday morning and hit the road. THEN, this amazing man I call my husband pushed BOTH children in our double jogging stroller. I am not kidding. He pushed 85 pounds for THREE AND TWO TENTHS miles just for me, for my birthday! I knew it would be nearly impossible for me to even finish the race on my own, let alone pushing the kids, so he did all the pushing so that I could accomplish this crazy race on my birthday.
I'm not sure why I got this running fever. Perhaps I thought it would make me feel not so old. I guess it did. Heck, I've hardly noticed that I'm a year older!
Thank you for all of the happy birthday wishes! It was quite a thrilling day. I accomplished something I never dreamed I would do ... or even WANT to do.

What a good thing to do on your birthday! Impressed!
Way to Go! Is your birthday May 17? So is mine!! I also have a 5 year old son with DS and I enjoy your blog. Your kids are beautiful! My blog is kim-itsallgood.blogspot.com
Good for you:) You made it two and two tenths longer than I would!
Congratulations! I just started running myself and hope to do a 5K in the fall. I have to take a break this week, tho, since I developed bad plantar fasciitis and my podiatrist has my foot all taped up. Sigh.
