I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Here's our Christmas poem for those of who haven't had a chance to read it yet.
Our Gift of 2006
This year we were blessed
we reflect this December,
on the splendid twelve months
we will always remember.
The tenth day of the year
the Lord opened a door,
he sent an angel from heaven
and our three became four.
Our girl Chelsea Faye
made our family complete,
a small hole in her heart
but a baby so sweet.
Ten cute fingers and toes,
our perfect baby we took home;
chubby cheeks, lots of hair,
and an extra chromosome.
She was genetically enhanced,
extra love she would need,
so mommy resigned from her job
to help our angel succeed.
At home she struggled at first,
slept all day and all night,
just to gain weight and to eat
she put up a great fight.
Logan was confused
now that baby was here,
she took the spotlight,
if she could just disappear.
He knew very soon
she was no fun at all,
he poked, kicked and bit
just to hear baby squall.
Unable to contain him
we had to bring him aboard,
he became our big helper,
he no longer felt ignored.
Both Mom and Dad are adapting
to their toddler and baby.
who ever would have guessed
how crazy life could be?
Ryan is learning to live
with the chaos and stress,
he works all day as the boss
and comes home to a mess.
You might think I’m at home
eating bon bons all day,
but I do therapy, teach Jazz,
even sell Mary Kay.
It’s been a year full of learning
for the whole family,
just to care for my baby
it seems I need a degree.
We’re part of a club now
for families touched by a saint,
we’ve met such inspiring people,
I have no complaint.
To all our new friends,
old pals and family,
know that LIFE is a gift,
there is no guarantee.
Embrace each and every day
as if it could be the last;
thank God for what you’ve been given,
and keep hold of memories past.
Merry Christmas!
